What are the system requirements for CTO?CTO itself does not really impose any requirements in terms of what's needed on your computer system, other than it must be Internet-ready using a current web browser like Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer that is frames, JavaTM, and Javascript capable. These features must be enabled, which is their default, and the browser should be set to accept cookies. Versions 4.0 or later of either browser are recommended.
Naturally, the "faster the better" is always a good idea in computers these days, which on Windows machines would probably mean at least Win95 or Win98, a good midrange Pentium processor or faster, and 32MB or more of memory.
Your Internet account should permit unlimited usage and be connected via a V.90 modem or, preferably, a faster digital connection such as ISDN, DSL, T1, or cable.
Also, CTO is designed to display at a screen resolution of 800x600 displaying 16 million colors or more. If your video is less capable you may see poor color quality and an increased need for both vertical and horizontal scrolling, which can be annoying.
CTO reports are designed to look good on higher quality printers. While a dot matrix may be used, you'll prefer the results from an inkjet or laser printer.
