Where is CTO located?

We might begin by explaining that CTO is not located on some remote system where generic server space is rented to the public.

Way back in 1995, if a company wanted to deliver Internet service they had to build their own network operations center, and that's exactly what OCS did. Our NOC is now a million dollar system that rivals the best anywhere. We have multiple servers running everything from community newszines to commercial websites to email management to ecommerce stores to live multimedia to public and private discussion forums.

Behind the scenes are the application and database servers, login authentication, domain name service, security firewall, and network switches and routers that make it all work.

The control room itself is state of the art in a secured access area with its own dedicated power and environmental controls. Servers and electrical power are all backed up with dual components and redundant systems, and we have a record in excess of 99.9% uptime over more than 16 years. Our network is connected to the Internet via redundant high-speed DS3 fiber circuits to ensure maximum speed and reliability.

Our network engineers are also programmers, and our software engineers are also network technicians. In terms of Internet knowledge and support capabilities, the OCS team is hard to beat.
